Frequently Asked Questions
Use our account recovery flow: go to the Recover account page and follow the steps. You'll need your recovery key that you saved when you registered. If you don't have it, contact support and we'll do our best to help.
Free plan users are not charged. Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly depending on the plan you choose. You can change or cancel your plan at any time from your account settings. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis, contact support for assistance.
Yes. Your data is encrypted end-to-end. We never see your plaintext secrets, only you and your designated trusted contacts can decrypt them after release. We use industry-standard encryption (RSA 4096-bit, AES-256-GCM) and do not store plaintext data.
You can delete your account and data from your account settings. Export functionality may be available for certain data, contact support if you need a copy of your account information. Deleted data cannot be recovered.
If you don't check in within your chosen period, reminder emails are sent. After the full period, your encrypted secrets are automatically released to the trusted contacts you assigned. They receive an email with instructions on how to access the information. Your account and released data are retained for a limited time as described in our Terms of Service.
Yes. Notes can be set to release on an exact date. The note is delivered on that date only after your dead man's switch has already activated, so it's like a time capsule that opens on the date you choose, once your account has been triggered. Recipients get an email with a link and access code to view the note.
Yes. After signing in with Google you'll complete a one-time setup (master password and recovery key) to encrypt your data. Your email is already verified.
When adding a trusted contact you can choose to invite anonymously. The contact will see that someone added them but not your name or identity until your account has been triggered and secrets are released.
